AVA Tournament Series

AVA Sanctioned Tournaments are hosted throughout the summer months and host both Adult and Youth Divisions.   The 2012 Beach Volleyball Handbook will provide you with additional rules and regulations for AVA Sanctioned Tournaments.

NOTE:  All out of province teams must apply for Wildcard consideration.  The Wildcard application form can be found here, and must be submitted to beach@albertavolleyball.com before the tournament deadline. 

Divisions

The Adult tournaments will have two divisions to include a wider range of skill level and competition.  When registering online, please ensure you select your desired Division. 

Elite Division: This Division includes Alberta's top teams, and is open to athletes wanting to play high-level beach volleyball. Out of province teams are welcome to register in this division through Wildcard consideration.

The Elite Division will be split into the following two categories:
AAA: The top 8 seeded teams for both male and female. This category may be expanded to accommodate any successful Wildcard applicants.
AA: Teams registered for the Elite Division who are not in the AAA draw. 

Competitive Division: This Division is intended for athletes looking for competitive beach volleyball tournaments.

Registration Information

Tournament Registration Deadline is on the Monday at 16:00 MST, before the event. It is the players' responsibility to confirm their own registration.

Membership Fee - There is a $45 membership fee that must be paid prior to entering into all events. You must be a member in order to successfully register on-line. If you or your partner are not members, the computer will not let you enter into the event(s).

Registration Process - AVA accepts on-line registrations ONLY.  As previously stated, you must become an AVA member in order to successfully register for events. 

National Championships - All Volleyball Canada's National Championships are an OPEN FORMAT. This allows ALL Alberta teams to participate. Provincial Champions in the following categories - 14U, 16U, 18U, & 21U team will receive funding to help finance their trip to Nationals. Funding for the Senior Open category has been redirected to prize money for Pete's at the Beach & the Provincial Championships.
