Team Alberta Indoor

Program Goals:

  • To produce excellence among the top age class athletes in the province of Alberta.
  • To develop the athlete’s technical, tactical, physical and psychological skills by exposing selected athletes to enriched levels of training and competition.
  • To provided opportunities for personal and leadership development.
  • Success at the 16U Western Elite Championships, Western Canada Summer Games, Canada Summer Games, National Team Challenge Cup; as well as the long-term preparation of athletes for participation and success at Post Secondary and National Team levels.
  • The Provincial Team Program will also assist in the development of competitive volleyball in Alberta by working in conjunction with players, coaches and volunteers associated with Alberta’s other volleyball delivery programs.

Provincial Team Overview:

For the 2012 Season, Alberta Volleyball will be offering the following Provincial Team programs:

18U and 19U Men (born in 1993 or later)
12 athletes will be selected to represent Alberta at the National Team Challenge Cup

17U and 18U Girls (born in 1994 or later)
12 athletes will be selected to represent Alberta at the National Team Challenge Cup

17U Boys (born in 1995 or later)
A maximum of 30 athletes will be identified and invited to the Team Alberta Training Camp.  These athletes will train as a group from July 2nd to July 14th, 2012.  A team of 12 athletes will then be selected to represent Alberta at the Western Elite Championships.

16U Boys (born in 1996 or later)
A maximum of 30 athletes will be identified and invited to the Team Alberta Training Camp.  These athletes will train as a group from July 2nd to July 14th, 2012.  A team of 12 athletes will then be selected to represent Alberta at the Western Elite Championships.

16U Girls (born in 1996 or later)
A maximum of 60 athletes will be identified and invited to the Team Alberta Training Camp.  These athletes will train as a group from July 2nd to July 14th, 2012.  Two teams of 12 athletes per team will then be selected to represent Alberta at the Western Elite Championships.
