Officiating
The Alberta Volleyball Officials Association (AVOA) is an association of all registered volleyball officials in the province of Alberta. It is the recognized provincial body for volleyball officials within Alberta and works closely with the Alberta Volleyball Association (AVA), a registered society under the laws of the province of Alberta.
The administrative head of the AVOA is the AVOA President. The President represents all Alberta officials at the provincial level, while the Regional Officials Chairperson (ROC) represents all senior officials at the Volleyball Canada (VC) level. The ROC is designated as the head official for the province of Alberta.
For the purposes of volleyball officiating, the province of Alberta is divided into nine zones. These zone boundaries are set by the AVOA. Within each zone, a chairperson is elected to represent that region on a provincial level.
