NCCP Level 3
To become a Level 3 candidate, an individual must apply in writing to Alberta Volleyball indicating their previous coaching history and current position. The candidate must be fully-certified Level 2 and it is recommended they have completed the Level 3 Theory prior to taking the Level 3 Technical clinic.
Technical
- Participation in classroom/gymnasium sessions.
- Assessment/observation of interventions during the training cycles.
Practical
- Must have level 3 Theory before applying for admission.
- Development of a season plan.
- Integration of mental and physical training in the season plan.
- Weekly follow-up with a mentor coach.
- Quarterly reports to the mentor coach.
- Evaluation of candidate by the tutor is based on the candidate’s interventions throughout the entire training cycle (i.e. P.P.1, P.P.2, micro cycle of competition)
- If the candidate receives 80% and over the candidate has met all requirements for the practical component of Level 3.
- If the candidate receives less than 80% they will be re-evaluated at another time and at the expense of the candidate.
Theory
Level 3 theory completes the training required (within the multi sport modules) for coaches working with developing athletes. Key concepts are integrated into the psychological and physical training programs as they relate to yearly planning.
