GO Youth Programs

GO Atomic

GO Atomic is an 8 week program with adapted rules for youth ages 9-12 years.  Each session is 1.5hours with every session being 45 minutes of practice followed by 45 minutes of game play. There are 2 stages in our Atomic Program, additional program information on each stage:

Atomic 1       9-10 years (Grade 4-5)

  • Novice: for participants who are new to volleyball
  • Intermediate: for participants who have completed the Novice Atomic 1 program or have some knowledge and experience in volleyball
  • Advanced: for participants who have completed the Intermediate Atomic 1 program or have knowledge and experience in the sport

**Spring Atomic 1 Programs will start on Monday, April 22nd and will run for 8 consecutive weeks from 5:00 - 6:30pm in Gym 8. Registration OPENS February 25!

Atomic 2       11-12 years (Grade 6-7)

  • Novice: for participants who are new to volleyball
  • Intermediate: for participants who have completed the Novice Atomic 2 program or have some knowledge and experience in volleyball
  • Advanced: for participants who have completed the Intermediate Atomic 2 program or have knowledge and experience in the sport

**Spring Atomic 2 Programs will start on Wednesday, April 24th and will run for 8 consecutive weeks from 5:00 - 6:30pm in Gym 8. Registration OPENS February 25!

GO League

Alberta Volleyball Youth GO League is for athletes between the ages of 13-18 (13-14U and 15-18U).  There are two sessions each week, one session will focus on skill acquisition while the second session will be game based.  The GO League will provide participants with an opportunity to work on fundamental systems, strategies, and team play.

**Winter GO Leagues will start on Wednesday, January 30th and run for 12 consecutive weeks on both Wednesday or Thursday from 5:00 - 6:30pm and Sunday from 7:00 - 8:30pm.

This membership will cost $8 +gst.  Once you have become a registered member you can go into the Calendar tab at the top and register for the program.

Refund Policy- A full refund (less a $15.00 administration fee) will be granted to any person withdrawing from the Program 5 Days prior to its commencement.  All registration fees are forfeit upon cancellation after this date. 

Saville Community Sports Centre General Information

The Saville Community Sports Centre (SCSC) will be an integral part of Edmonton’s sport landscape. The facility is located a short walk from the Campus LRT Station. Please download the Saville Community Sports Centre Map for directions to the SCSC.

Go Sports operating in the SCSC is a partnership of four proven community sports organizations: the Edmonton Grads Basketball Centre, Ortona Gymnastics Club, Edmonton Volleyball Centre Society and the University of Alberta.

The Edmonton Volleyball Centre Society (EVCS) brings together representatives from the Alberta Volleyball Association (AVA), the Northern Alberta Volleyball Club (NAVC), FOG Volleyball, Millwoods Recreational Volleyball Society and the Edmonton Volleyball Association (EVA), all of which bring a rich history of providing volleyball programs for all ages in the Capital Region.

Booking Gym Time 

The EVCS will be responsible for booking Volleyball related activities into the SCSC throughout the year. If you are interested in Requesting court time, please complete the EVCS Saville Community Sport Centre Gym Request Form.

Drop-In Volleyball

Description:

GO Sports offers pick-up/drop-in volleyball programs for adults and youth interested in playing indoor volleyball at the SCSC. All recreational and competitive players are welcome.

Date: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (Saturday and Sundays when courts are available)
