*IMPORTANT* The NTCC’s will also be a Selection Camp for the Junior National Men’s team. Any athletes interested in having the opportunity to train and compete for Canada this summer MUST be members of their Provincial Team program.

The focus of this program is to prepare athletes for competition and continue to provide them with the training and experience needed to continue to pursue the sport at the post-secondary, national and international levels.

Athletes will have the opportunity to be identified and invited to the Selection Camp through their participation in the AVA Premier Tournaments, High Performance Camps and CIS/CCAA seasons.  In order to try to accommodate as many athletes as possible in this age group, Alberta Volleyball has decided to offer two selection camps for the 18U Women and 19U Men. There are a variety of conflicts that occur with this age group, including National Team tryouts, high school graduations and other academic commitments. In order to provide as many athletes as possible the opportunity to make Team AB, the following Selection Camp schedule has been designed:

Selection Camp #1:
May 5, 2012
Men's Sessions: 12:30pm-2pm, 4pm-6pm.

Selection Camp #2:
June 9-10, 2012
Saville Community Sports Centre (GO Centre) 11610-65 Avenue
Edmonton, AB
Registration Deadline: Friday, June 1, 2012

The Team Alberta Athlete Selection Committee will be present at both camps. Athletes are only required to attend one camp; however, chances of making a team are increased if an athlete is able to make both camps. A discounted rate is available for athletes attending both camps. The team selection will occur following the completion of the Edmonton camp in June and athletes from both camps will be considered. Any athlete not in attendance in June will be notified of their selection status by the head coach.

The NTCC's is a training and competition based event in which the top athletes from each province have the opportunity to train and compete with each other, under the guidance of National Team coaches and staff.
